Aerial roots, on a pomegranate!

I air layered a pomegrate branch, and separated it last week. To keep it humid, I covered it with a transparent plastic bag. On checking today, I saw that roots were forming on the trunk.



I knew pomegranates rooted easily, but I didn't expect them to throw out aerial roots in humid conditions.

That's funny, I have some on my privet air layer I separated recently. It's been pretty humid here:



I might actually try and get the one on the left to root. Not normal for a privet, but I was thinking that branch would have to go. Maybe it can stay if it has its own support... Hmmm...
