Candles lengthening,becoming fluffy.

The mysteries of mycellium in their pots.

Best candles this year were Sylvestris 'Watereri',very nice indeed.

Grown out front in an oriental tradition so as to draw the eye and bemuse the passers-by.

Me too, ahhhhhh! was getting really tired of winter.:D

You have to move out West. We've been experiencing spring weather for almost a month now. Most of my maples have fully leafed out, the candles on my pines have put out 4 to 6 inches of growth and my oaks already have 8 inch extensions of new growth.

Sorry for rubbing that in!!

This has been one of the latest springs I can remember in the northeast. Forsythias are just starting to bloom in the yard. At least the snow has melted... mostly.

You poor devils in the tundra,it's not all plain sailing as i have had to thin out some needles from the underside of branches on a Sylvestris 'Chantry Blue' and a White Pine of some sort.

Whilst not a pine an Elm got the heave-ho but thankfully my Ginkgo leaves are emerging from slumber, even the 1 year olds in 3 inch pots.

And it's another nice day,few clouds and no rain.

My Ficus and even a Cactus are outside soaking up the rays.

Late winter storm in Southern California last night. Snow in the mountains down to 3000 feet (that's extremely low for us). Right now it is 44 degrees.

Cold weather and strong sun is great for my solar panels, however :)

They tell me it's unseasonably warm,20 degrees C indoors with all the windows open.

I'm also informed it's going to be a BBQ weekend,Oorah!

I think the Pines like it too.

Almost forgot, Hey Jeff - Bite me :D got a spare room???;)

No problem on the extra room but there is no free space in the yard for extra trees! I've already gotten in trouble for putting trees in the raised beds that the vegetables are supposed to get planted in.

Needs more cunning, the carrots and some other root vegetable can be grown to giant show vegetable size using guttering fastened diagonally or otherwise to a vertical surface.

This principle could be used for edible roots of shorter size.

I'm not suggesting to grow potatoes above the eaves.
