This is a Trost Minature Birch. The layer was started in Aug. Living on the coast of Central Coast allows me to do this type of thing almost nine month of the year.

Had this tree dropped its foliage when you started the layering?

I'm curious to know how well air-layering works with trees that have gone
dormant.

I have a good deal of plant material, let me know if you
might be interested in swapping for some cuttings of your Birch.

Yes, this tree drops its leaves early. The photo of the full tree w/o foliage was taken the layering were cut. It seems to be working.
