The BRT I have here was grown from an airlayer. Not don by myself, but I noticed during the first repot that the rootball was very young for a 1inch trunk.

Surely someone here has attempted this.

…..Brother Steve "Big Pharma" B. came down and repotted this BRT. Believe he put an air-layer on a branch. I'll try to get an update, but he's on the road some and lives a ways up north. Should have positive results. Most of your nicer specimens, outside of collected material, are developed via this method.

Thanks, I am looking to air layer a trunk that is about 2" wide. The tree is very healthy and growing vigorously.

Air layers in BRTs are done regularly by nurseries specialised in tropicals here in Brazil.
