Alerts from "watched forums"

When I make a post in a thread, it automatically flags it as "watched thread".
I can turn alerts off for watched threads, but I can't do the same for watched forums, is there an option somewhere else? I can't find it in the "Alert Preferences".

Or do I need to unwatch/unmark all the seperate forums?

Lately I haven't been getting alerts on threads that I watch. Some I get alerts on and a lot I don't......I wonder why
