You are quite welcome, Bob. I'm just glad to have the freedom to follow-up on all these wild and seemingly unrelated thoughts about all aspects of this art/hobby/interest. Archiving some of the history and facets for the present and future enthusiasts. Spread the word, and feel free to let me know what else needs to be shared through this. :)

Wow.
Really?
How far will you go with separate entries for varieties/cultivars?
The result could be an amazing resource.
Thanks for taking it on.
Jim

You are welcome, Jim. I've been toying with where I can "reasonably" go with this. For some of the plants there are only a few images on-line of them as bonsai; others have way too many to choose from. I suppose I could just link to search engine results for images, although I know that some results include images of other plants also :(

Care instructions would be too wide-ranging depending on one's particular [micro]climate zone. Even a brief summary of the plant would be labor-intensive: do I want to put a separate page out there for each genus or species with relevant data? (I do have the data space available for the website, although I haven't even made the time to just count all the plants I have listed already.)

I'm thinking that each page would take away from the overall time I have for getting additional plant names -- as well as my working so freely on the rest of the site when I'm not doing 40 hrs a week at my dayjob, plus yardwork, other subject reading, and helping with the grandkids and pets, among others... Anyone interested in being an unpaid intern or distance research apprentice/assistance? I do have a very capable assistant webmaster in Phoenix (I'm in Colorado Springs), but his specialty is not this kind of research and his available hours are even less than mine.

Of course, I've only been developing this list since last March, so who knows where I/we will go with it. The cultivar counts and flower/fruit/leaf icons are an addition beginning in October.) Stay tuned. (And enjoy the many other pages on our website, phoenixbonsai.com, particularly through the Magical Miniature Landscape section...)
