I bought it as 3 scronny 2' tall trunks on one plant. I have wrapped the first 3" or so of the trunks with green garden ribbon to fuse them together. BUT, here's my question......

I want to make it significantly shorter. Every time I get a new sprout lower on one of the trunks, I cut it just above that spot. So currently I have 3 "branches comming off one "trunk", and each of the branches has a little sprout at the tip of it. Its been producing new sprouts lower and lower regularly, currently the whole tree is only about 9" tall (3" for the wrapped trunk and 6" for the branches) and it was about 2 feet. Am I going about this the right way?

Can you post some pictures??

If you're trying to fuse them, don't cut back on them. You want all the growth you can get to speed the fusing process.
