Hey bnuts,

Ive come across some Amur seeds that I'll be straitfying soon and while prepping them, I got a tiny bit confused about one part.

Am I supposed to be stripping all of the outer key as you can see exposing the red seed within, or do I just get rid of the key blade and let it retain the outer skin as seen on the left.

Thanks for the help!

Tim

I'm not sure "stripping all of the outer key" would help.

Removing the wings, OK. Soaking them in tepid water for 24/48 hours, OK.

But I think that far more seeds will rot this way, compared to those whose enveloppe has been left.

Even for some species it is advised to "erase" one side, but never to take them out of their "shell"...

You can probly just pop em in the pot with the blade exposed.
