Hi all

Here's another tree that's been overlooked for too long, I recently de weeded it and put some wire on..

I think there's a slight improvemnt, I put some Biogold on a few weeks ago and it's showing new growth now (Not in this pic though!, I took the pic before I put the feed on..

Looks like a chamaecyparis obtusa = hinoki cypress.
It will not back bud.
Well, it will at the branch-trunk joints.

All this means that the foliage will just keep getting farther and farther away from the trunk, unless you get a new shoot on the trunk - then you can spend years growing a new branch. On the other hand, proper treatment of the foliage can radically slow the extension of brown wood.
