This project also started December 2018 with no pictures. This one was two hairy sticks in a pot with a rock.

July 2019. Decided there should be only one tree per rock.

January 2020. Got the one root to drape over the rock instead of behind the tree. Not very good pictures to see that.

November. When I cut the sacrifice from the bottom I will most likely chop the top as well. Depends how it develops. Quarantine had me playing Edward scissorhands a bit too much. I need to allow it to grow freely for a few months.
School is open so I don’t quite as much free time.

Trying my luck at making a YouTube channel. Made my second video about this tree. I think the 12 minutes should only be 4-6 minutes. Hopefully I get better.

I watched your video, I enjoyed it! The music at the start made the baby I was holding jump!

Your ficus looks like a praying Mantis, it is cool

you are right that your second branch on the right is thicker than the trunk it comes from, it is also thicker than your first branch FYI

I subscribed, good luck for your channel, I give you credit

Thanks. My students deserve a lot of credit for helping me get started with the video editing. Hopefully as I get more comfortable with speaking to a camera and editing the videos will improve.

Looks like a good start. What type of rock did you use? I was thinking of attempting something similar on my ficus

I think it is coral rock. In the older neighborhoods around here the builders never hauled any of the rock they found when digging the foundations away they would just pile it up in the backyards. Pictures from 12/21
