I love dynamic trees, and am really looking forward to working with this one.

A great, and as you say, dynamic larch. Will you cut it back any this year?

I am planning on it. No styling work, but some pruning just to focus energy to the interior growth. I am hesitant to do much work on an old tree in only its second year of captivity, but if it maintains the vigour it is showing now, some intervention will be necessary.

Do you agree with this plan? I value your opinion on anything larcine.

Nice trunk! Movement is so important in bonsai. It seems that that in todays bonsai market, thick trunks are practically the sole criteria for what prices they are. However, sometimes a thick trunk is just that, a thick trunk. However, a thinner trunk tree with beautiful movement can speak louder than a thick trunk, no movement tree.
