Kept in a small pot it will take decades for the trunk and branches to "flatten out". I have 3 in 15 and 25 gallon "flattening out" nicely, another 25 fresh one gallon ready to step up to 7gallon. They are very susceptible to nematodes, Amdro fire ant poison seems to work. Make a plan, let it grow, airlayer, grow, airlayer...... I got my stock from Jim Moody in 1982 who introduced Raintrees to bonsai.

Nice litte tree.

I have mine sitting in the windowsill. I keep them evenly moist. As soon as temperatures allow, they move outside. Note: These do not like the hot sun too much. Dappled sun in the hottest part of the day.

I let branches run long and trim back when they get near trunk size. They heal cuts slowslowslowly so avoid bg chops, rather more frequent cuts.
