I purchased a small bag of tiny roots all-purpose bonail soil. I'm new to bonsai, but the mix does seem pretty heavy on bark and very light on grit.

Does anyone have any experience or opinions on this product?

I'm not looking to mix my own soil yet and was wondering if this is worth using?

tolstoy make your decision based on how your tend to your trees. I'm always afraid of root rot so I error on the side of caution and use a well draining soil. I check my trees a couple times each day and can give them what they need. If you don't have as much time to babysit them then use something that will hold more moisture in case you can't water. But all things equal I dont like too much organic (moisture retentive mix) with my trees.
