Why are My Chinese wisteria growing like this? (See image) I am not familiar with Chinese wisteria, maybe this is just what they do. Is there something wrong with them?

Wysteria typically put out more vine than trunk and Woody growth or branch structure.. typically see them climbing all through the canopy of other neighboring trees

So this weird look should be expected?
Pretty much..i had a thick trunk of one i pulled from a tree i was removing when i used to do tree services nd it ended up with weird shoots like that but considering the whole plant was a Vine all through a bunch of trees and it only had a short section where it met the ground that was thick and kind of cool looking I kind of expected it

Somehow it didn't end up making it unfortunately ..then again i had to yank it out with a front end loader lol didnt have much roots but it lasted a while
