Some of the most internal leaves of my maple trees are turning bright yellow....as shown in the attached photo... The new growth looks fine in the attached photos but I find the yellowing leaves troubling....any ideas\thoughts will be appreciated?20200605_165512.jpg20200605_165529.jpg

they might not be getting enough light. Partial outer defoliation might help get more sunlight to interior shoots so they dont die

Looks to me like just a few weak leaves. I won't think anything of it....just remove them.

My Crab was doing it, and upon closer inspection, it had scale.

The regular first small leaves that fell about a week or so before went paler yellow.

The scale yellow was more gold like that.

I think part of their charm is how ugly and nasty, downright ratty they can be, yet the flowers are still beautiful, and the birds still find refuge.

If a damn bird wants refuge, the least it could do is eat scale!
