Hi everyone,

I have this pot that was bought along with a Willow Leaf from Meehans Miniatures last August. I've been scouring the web to try and find who might have made it, but have so far had no luck. This is one of a few of my only "actual" bonsai pots. The rest have stickers on the bottom saying "Made in China" (and no, I didn't buy them, I bought the trees that were in them ;)). I think it's a nice pot, but I just have no information about it. Can anyone help?

I just stumbled upon a duplicate of this chop when I was browsing through bonsai pots on a Chinese online shopping site:

this is the pot:

In that first image, the characters in the chop are written in modern characters in the bottom right-hand corner (because that ancient style of writing is hard for a lot of people to read). I can read three of the four characters. If I'm reading in the right order, and interpreting correctly, it says "empty mountain (something) rain" ... that wouldn't be an artist's name, as far as I can tell.

and yes, it looks like they make your pot - or something pretty darn close:

Wow, that looks just like it! You're good. Thanks!

Lol, you learn something new each day! When I first seen this thread I just overlooked it as I thought " chop marks " referred to where you would chop a tree off! I was wondering why it did not have a ton of responses so I opened the thread to find thats what the marks on the bottom of the expensive pots are called, I am judging them as expensive as I know I do not own any, lol.

Ha. This one, however, isn't so expensive - at least, in China :p - they're selling it for 75 Yuan - which is maybe 12 bucks with the current exchange rate.
