I was informed by the Wife over the weekend that I have 3 bags of Coconut Bark Chips to use if I feel it is ok. I have been using a pure Pine chip Horse bedding but I figure if the Coconut is just sitting there I will use it up.
Then the gears started spinning and I was thinking Cedar Chip would perhaps be a cool choice for bug resistance.:p

Thoughts?

I've heard (conflicting) stories about cedar containing growth inhibitors. Another is proper planning and knowing that they can bind nitrogen so supplement properly if you use it in your mix. You will indeed benefit from its bug repellant property.

Good luck!
