Ashe Junipers

Hello All,

My family in laws have 80 acres in central Texas that they are clearing. I was out there over the weekend and notice allot of Ashe Junipers. I found some sparse information and was curious if you guys had any information. I took a few pictures while we were out there. It looks like they just drug a box blade behind a tractor. a third of the property has been cleared so far.

When is the best time to collect? I had read that they don't survive being dug up terribly well. Do they make good bonsai and do they back bud decently? Here are some pics I took. Some pictures I found looked alright and I am sure with time could be pretty decent.

look for some that have twisting or undulating movement otherwise its a whole lotta work for not that great of a tree. Remember if the movement is up higher in the bush you can always airlayer that out at a later date back home

Thanks guys, I found that bonsaistudygroup link from google at home but I thought the site was down since it wouldn't load from home but here from work loads no problem. I am making the trip back out there in a month and will dig up as many good looking ones as I can since they are going to pull them all out anyways.
