Noon Question..

My trees are in some bad organic materials. I want to repot all of them in inorganic soil. I have Pines (JBP, Afghan, Austrian, loblolly), Elms (cedar and Chinese), Live Oaks and Japanese maples.

My options readily available in Austin are Turface MVP, NAPA 8822 and Saf-T-Sorb, and Pumice (most expensive part at $27 40ib and not sure what will be usable after sifting

Also
Expanded shale (haydite)

Decomposed granite

Black Star (volcanic basalt)

I am leaning towards turface-8822--Haydite-Black Star
All the materials are $4-10 for 40-50lb except pumice being alot more. Thoughts?

Also I will sift with 1/8 in (fines) and 1/4 in. mesh.
Is material sifted thru 1/2in mesh usable or just stay between 1/8 in and 1/4in?

Thanks
