The trip was successful. Surprised at how far along the missionary/church facility has gotten. Though the second floor is not built they are actually using the first floor (though not finished as well) but taking advantage of the shelter and rooms. Teaching ones who can't read...to read. Ones of all ages go there. From 20's to gosh...80 year olds. (No photos of that group because I was humbled and proud of their swallowing their pride to learn to read...as well as part of the session is devoted to bible study.) They had devotions for teens, single women, married women who are widows or are in the big city to provide a job and funds for family. There were two other groups meeting for devotions but I forget the categories.

There is now a covered porch running the length of the three basement Sunday school classrooms. It allows a nice cross breeze that will allow the missionary teams a place to eat and relax when teams are on downtime.

Days started at 5:30...on the job at 6am for construction work. Breakfast at 8am...back to work site until 1pm for lunch...VBS started at 3:30pm two groups...finished up around 7pm then a late dinner. (Men on the team did that. Women gathered together with teachers and went over VBS and also met with outlying pastors of the other 5 villages as well as Magdalena's Pastor...and did outreach.) They came to us...because we were without transportation do to the bridge being out still. The detour forge was washed out that crossed the river. So our vehicles were left at the other side of the river...and we crossed the new bridge that allowed traffic by foot only at the stage of construction it was in. Hired trucks to bring our supplies and haul us into the village. But there was even a hiccup there...but...an 8hour trip to the village...took two days. The roads past the bridge leading to the village were worse than last year. But we had scheduled for a longer stay...traveling to and from took up those extra days we had. But...allowed us a week in Magdalena to work on the facility and VBS. So it all worked out.

My son helping the children with a VBS craft.

This photo was taken off the balcony/porch where WGM rented in the village.

There was talk of going to a bonsai Forrest...but to get through the bridge construction and the time spent crossing...and the roads being washed out. It didn't allow time to do so. We are planning to do it next year allowing time for that at the beginning. The bridge will be complete and the hours spent crossing won't apply.

Welcome back! Hope you had a good experience as the World Cup is going on.

Thank you!
Indeed...everyone was wearing Honduras Soccer shirts the day they played...When we dined out in Tegus...Honduras was playing either France or Spain. We were so glad it wasn't against the USA. (We came back early to gather much needed materials for the construction site that of course can't be purchased back at the village. The Pastor will take the supplies back with him on the bus) Places were closing early to go home to watch the game as well.

Welcome back! Glad to see all went well and you are all safely home :) I presume all of your plants grew a bit while you were away as well ;)

Yeah. One of my friends was over in Costa Rica the last time. I think they were playing the USA and lost. The Costa Ricans were going crazy and angry at all the USAers. It helped a little that they wore pro Costa Rica shirts, but they had to endure the mob.

I'd like to see how much your rosemary has grown.

Thanks...yes, all fared well with the house sitter. Though I did bring them indoors. So I was worried slightly. But...we had strong winds so I am glad I made that call to do so. No time to build shelter protectors for them as you suggested.

Smart of your friends to have their team shirts on. Hondurans were upset at the loss...but didn't get out of hand in the least. But still was glad they weren't playing against the USA. ;)

The Rosemary...It's doing well...even under someone else's care. Roots coming out the bottom of the pot now I noticed. How is yours doing?
