the problem I have is there's deer in the neighborhood that make almost daily visits and I don't really want to setup fences since most homes around me don't have them and our backyards are sort of all connected so it'll be like I'm fencing myself in. What's my option in terms of setting up bonsai stands/benches in the yard and avoid the deer getting to them? Currently I have a grow bed protected with landscape netting and most my potted plants are on the deck where I hooked up drip irrigation. Would eventually want to move them off the deck so it doesn't get ruined by everyday watering.

If you can solve it without a fence make sure you patent it before word gets out. You'll be rich beyond your wildest dreams!! Maybe you should only use materials with thorns.

here we get into accidents with them. I struck 2 live ones and ran over a couple dead ones all on highways within the last decade, so did my coworkers. You're welcome to come up and shoot some of them for us, love venison jerky

I live in a city filled with deer. During deer season my friends can't find any in the woods. I tell them to bring their horse trailer into town and practice their roping skills. The could rope one in my front yard and bring them to the country for... Well... You know!

Deer virtually live in my yard. This 'Deer Stopper' product really works - give it a try.

BTW, it is also available at Amazon and, in my area, at nurseries and small box stores.

Liquid Fence

I use Liquid Fence, deer and other animal repellant around the yard and spray it on landscaping bushes, pine tree branches and low-height growing plants. Works very well. Smells terrible for the first couple of hours...then the smell disappears but the effect for deer can last all summer...or all winter with a single spraying. Repels deer and I don't have to spray on any bonsai stock. I buy the concentrate and mix my own. I also spray it on any pine trees in my area, we have plenty of eastern white pines, and this does the best at repelling deer. They like pine buds a lot and they don't seem to like a yard with pines that has been sprayed. I spray when I know there are two dry days after I spray so the product dries and continues to work.

I've also over time used those Deer Chasers...the electronic battery operated device that emits a sound I can't hear...except when the battery is getting low. We've used these primarily around and in my wife's flower garden which is like the local buffet for the deer. Seems to work well....but I believe the Liquid fence works a lot better.

I have a neighbor who has a motion-activated sprinkler in the yard. When a critter prowls in the night, it starts jetting out a stream of water. She says it works. I've seen the advertised in garden catalogs.
