Bald cypress cutting

Took 2 small cuttings off a limb that was broken. Stuck them in my wife’s Aerogrow. 7 days later.....

both have buds up and down the length. Don’t know what kind of root(s) have developed so plan to leave them in another couple of weeks then check. Guess when I chop the large one I have I’ll try a bigger cutting.

Don't want to ruin your party but buds popping up on recently cut twigs doesn't always mean roots have develloped. These buds usually feed from whatever energy is left in the twig. It could be they die in a few weeks without root formation on the cuttings.
On the other hand, it could very well be that there are lots of roots on your cutting already

Bald Cypress from cuttings

Can I take cuttings and get them to root? How big? Any tips and timing info appreciated. I have a particular tree in mind growing in a strip mine pond locally. They are quite rare around here. Many huge knees and local. I found this but know you guys know...
