Trying to get new growth at crown of bc wondering if their is any shortcuts to promote growth.

If you can attach a pic, that would be sorta helpful. Maybe your bottom branches are too strong, balance the energy out and try to divert it upwards. Give it a good balance of water and oxygen, and give it some fertilizer. BC’s grow strong in my area and are pretty forgiving in my experience.

I got a bunch of bare root saplings from arbor day foundation 2 years ago. First year,naturally, they didn't do much. At the beginning of last year with some sizeable up pots they were off. Just follow the advice given in this thread and they'll do most of the heavy lifting.

My experience after a collection is that the tree first grow buds every where and exploded with growth all evenly. After the top growth comes the roots. Once the roots are established I get another flush that is very apical. The buds near the top of the tree will grow so much faster.
