Bald Cypress in New England

Any idea what to do with this cypress? It is about 3 ft. tall with 3 inch trunk diameter. It does OK in summer, but winters are rough. I store it in an unheated garage. Should I prune it or just let it grow and see what comes out of it? If prune it, then how? Thanks

Looks like you could use a wider training box!

I'd only put it in a new box for now.
Some new soil.

See if it does better than ok!
