I got this Bald Cypress as a seedling from Jonsteen back in October 2018. It spent most of its first year in a 1gal nursery can, then I slip potted it into a terracotta pot last year. Haven't done any training on it yet (literally haven't pruned it once), Just building the trunk for the time being. I've been keeping it submerged in a tray of water since the end of spring, and I guess that compromised the strength and integrity of the pot. I was out there watering yesterday and all the sudden the pot just fell apart.

The plan for now is just to slip the rootball into another pot for the winter, and then do a proper repot come spring.

Just wanted to share the photos. That's one bound rootball!

This one is going to be fun to root clean/comb/prune, make sure that the roots are well protected during winter, and be on the watch for rodents and other critters, the soft soil stripe between the pot and rootball is perfect for burrowing.
