Thanks a lot for the feedback.
I have bald cypress. The pockets i created on this to plant have no drainage holes so i would fill them with water to grow in. I am still undecided.

In my rough estimates I would say the rock would be nearly 100 pounds when complete and the pot maybe 60 pounds.
As long as cavity is large. Reason I say that...come summer the water evaporates quickly. But with no drainage...I can see why you choose a water loving species. But also some deciduous water loving as well.
