Two years ago (July 2017) I took my first bonsai class. We learned to prune and repot a small Jaboticaba and then moved to a procumbens juniper. I decided to track my progress here on bnut since you don't see many jaboticaba posted. I have been working on improving branch taper over the past few years. The main branches are thick and out of scale so I have been gradually cutting back to smaller branches to improve this.
Here it is August 2017

Spring 2019 after a trim.
After an early summer 2019 repot (sorry poor back ground)
Today's thick branch removal(before)
After
Wired and trimming complete
Still working on taper for that central thick trunk. I have my next cut back planned but would like the branch I cut back to strength more first.
