Got it from a garden centre marked as an oddity for £20 so see what happens, I am going to prune it then hopefully air layer a section, have put a couple of cuttings in some aspirin water

It certainly appears very similar to Goshiki Kotohime, though I would expect the new growth on that to be more red in color.

Beni Hime red-leaf variety. Comes out a "RED" that you'll know when you see it. A bit of green midsummer, bright red in fall.

Looks more like Koto w/toothy edges and bright, light green in summer w/yellowy orange fall coloring.

Without the label, it's a dwarf Japanese Maple. :)

Either way, hell of a find for £20, at least compared to what you'd find here at a local garden center for that price.
