Hello to all. I have 5 Berberis Thunbergii Bagatelles that i dug up last year. They have not really shown any signs of slowing down after digging during dormancy. They have been in these containers and growing out nicely. They will be ready for chopping next spring. I have not seen many for sale, so not exactly sure what to ask. I was going to keep them all and just play, but if anyone is interested, id like to have some other trees in my collection also. Any offers? Would like to trade or sell some of them. These two i have at my home, and the other three are at my teachers home. They are 28 years old give or take a few months. If anyone is interested, ill clean off the roots more, and take more photos. I pulled 7 or 8 new buds off each trunk to take pictures.

What do you have in mind price wise? Pick up from you? Meet me half way between Greensboro and Mooresville?

Thanks alot Irene. They are really very nice trees, but like i mentioned, i havent seen any to compare a price to. I was looking to trade for some other nice trees. I would think between $400 & $700 depending on which one, but i would entertain any offers. I would be glad to meet you, unless youd like to come and choose which one you might want. I dont have anything i can put all five into and travel, sorry.

I dont have any of the trees that youve listed. I have always liked the bald cypress trees. My cousin lives in Florida, and have grown up seeing them, well, at least pond cypress, which is very similar. Id love to see some pics of the trees you are talking about. I would want to see what does well here in my NC climate. I am going this weekend to get my other three trees, and ill get some more pics up for ya. I am very interested in talking to all about your trees. Thanks for getting back with me.

digger, That's out of my price range for experimenting. Thanks for posting and I'll be looking for more photos here.

Bald and Pond Cypress does quite well in our area. They can be developed into some very nice bonsai.

Regards,
Mac

Bald Cypress for trade. Collected in the swamps of east texas. About 3ft or so in height, in a large concrete tub, well established I have owned it about 4 years now.

Ponderosa for trade. I bought this yamadori from andy smith about 3 years ago, he estimated the ago over 150+. It's about 16" or so in height, this picture is from last year. It's actually in a different tokoname pot this year.

I bought this yew from marc torpa at the growing grounds about 6 years ago. It has a massive trunk and lots of driftwood. It's probably about 32" or so in height.

Here is the elm. Trunk chopped a few years ago and being trained into the broom style. I was told it's a chinese elm, but I think it may be siberian or american. The bark is pretty rough. This one is in a big concrete tub as well. I would have to meet Digger if you want to trade, cant ship some of these tree they are too big. Hopefully we can do a trade for one or more of the barberry's. If anybody else has anything they may want to trade me if digger passes email me a bonsai213@yahoo.com maybe we can work out a deal.

Here are pics of the other three. They were taken in february when still dormant. The second one i am keeping. It is looking like a semi cascade that i think will be cool to work with. Last one is a large clump of 5 trunks. Then the first pic is the smallest of the upright trunks. Its only about 4.5" at the bottom of the trunk.
