This trident, still working this one

tridenta1.jpg tridenta1a.JPG tridenta2.JPG

Posting this Shimpaku because I wish to see how it turns out. Still have to make first cuts. Done some chalk on the trunk to find a line for shari. Rach time I try I just wipe it off and make a new line. Eventually I will make the first cuts and make the shari.

All of my posts in this thread are my own work, I don't have a teacher.

I like that bark. Looks like a full size elm tree.

Since I only water and weed I asked K's permission to show these. So Al won't get mad with me.

1988MugoPig copy.jpg DSC_0340.JPG I have long been an advocate of progression photos of your trees and your work. Here is something I have shown before, Porky's progress. 1988-02016. Purchased as a nursery tree at Bordine's Nursery many years ago.

I got lots of stuff developing from seedlings or very young stock, nothing worth showing yet, hopefully someday. And I also have trees that are further along but somebody else did the work.

This juniper is the closest thing I got for now that started in a can and now entering refinement stages. BNuts own October helped me with design, all my own work(feels funny calling it work though). image.jpgimage.jpeg

And Chinese Quince, really have enjoyed this one, another ebay trunk. First pic was after I chopped it, can't find the before chop pic... I have many trees that I've brought along quite a ways under my development, but most of them had more development before I got them, so will not post them here. I still feel that those trees are my work though. I think anytime you contribute to the betterment of the tree, you are adding to the line of work, and are therefore owning the artistic content.

One of my favorites things to see is before and afters! Whether created in an few hours or several years. Some very nice and talented work here!!

This is an unusual Randy Knight maple as he seems to collect almost exclusively conifers. It has progressed nicely in just two years. Next spring it will be cut back and rewired once again. I'd love to get it into a highly textured Horst Heinzlreiter container.
