lately I’ve been tempted to repot this at a more upright angle and prune the top third of it off every time I walk by.
I think it will look good, and the pot will be more stable, and I can root the top for a small tree or two.
Thoughts?

I can see pruning the top third, but I feel like that trunk angle is what gives the tree such a dynamic presence. Slanting angles add visual tension. That’s why Dutch angle shots and the classic trope of a private investigator’s dark office with the blinds mostly closed with just slivers of the light from outside casting angled shadows across the rooms are so common in film noir.

I missed the flower pics.
it was depotted and pruned by the wildlife.
I don’t think they appreciated my aesthetic choices.
recently my trees have been assaulted by squirrels, chickens, peacocks, and iguanas.
some direct attacks, and sometimes just knocking them down.
and often inciting the dogs into destroying things.

Not so bad.
nothing lost.
the peacocks have decided to annoy elsewhere (they don’t like frisbees, boomerangs, or soccer balls, or the occasional stick )
And the bougie is happy in its source pot.
