Thought for sure it wouldn't make it. Posted trouble I had last summer with what I think was a fungus. Looking pretty gloomy. Was ready to toss it. But buds are appearing on most of the branches! Although I think some bigger ones are dead. But happy it's alive!

Got some nice bark. Love barberries in the spring. Mine are just getting going.

Yeah , I like them too. Have you had much dieback on yours? They have a tendency to do that.

No die back at all this year even with the rough winter. The two I have seem to be very hardy. Not sure if it's the variety I have or that I've just been lucky so far.

Well finally got around to repotting it. I collected it about 2 yrs ago. Didn't have the best roots. I'm sure because of the poor soil. So hopefully it responds well to new substrate. Don't really know where to take this but I think it has potential. Thanks for looking.

Yeah it's 100% turface. I have a collected yew 1yr in it, and it's doing very well.

Good stock. I can see eliminating the two heavy right-facing branches on the main trunk and developing a clump-style with it.

Unfortunately, I'm not getting any buds up high on the main trunk / trunks...so don't know what can become of this, but maybe she'll bud back. I'm not sure where dead wood stops. The top of the trunks are dead but I like your virt.

A little off topic, but I find myself going back to my, we'll I use my phone most of the time when checking post on bnut. But my phone,a millions times checking if somebody responded to post. Wish there was a notification sound when someone responds to said post. Like on Facebook.
Anyone think that would be nice! Between watching college b-ball, picking up kids at mall, taking dog out, cooking dinner, that would be nice!!! Lol Unless we have it and I'm missing something. Just an idea..

Have you thought of separating the raft like branch from the trunk and creating two trees with this? I can see the main tree by itself, and either taking all the dead off, or carving a bit of it for character above the branches. And that raft might be real nice too.
Just a thought, lots of ways to go with this.

Yeah,I thought about it but there wasn't too many roots on the raft portion, so I opted for just leaving it intact. For now. But a possibility.
