Excellent wood....like a well managed pot glaze.
Is Palm wood a hardwood or tend to be softwood when it comes to working with it and completing finishing steps?

Really well done on those feet! Smooth execution and finishing. Mighty fine!

Difficult to cave without damaging.
The black grain is very hard and the tan grain is very soft.

Thanks. I enlarged the wood grain. I can definitely see the Palm tree cell growth and detect the soft and hard differences. Very nice looking wood....and outstanding work on the craftsmanship!

I like how the grain on the lip angle echos the rocks line pattern.

But I think the combination of all 3 patterns is too busy.

I'd like to see that wood with a simple rock.

Especially if it's so hard to work, it's gotta work work. Like, leave no question, work.

I think a rock that'll work work will be rare.

But when you find it, the price it ought fetch should be up there.

Nice.

The idea here is like in bonsai, a busy tree can take on a busy stand.
If the tree is simple and the stand is busy, the stand overwhelms the tree.
