Black Tupelo-Nyssa sylvatica

Has anyone worked with black tupelo, or black gum trees before? There isn't much out there that is bonsai related, but I may have a source for trying to dig a couple up on my Uncles property.

I have heard they are very finicky about root work and can be very tough to transplant or maintain. However, that may be because no one has unlocked their particular needs.

Guy Guidry sold a spectacular nyssa sylvatica tupelo trunk a few years ago on ebay. Don't know what happened to it...
