ROFL. I met Roy Nagatoshi in 2012. I was telling him that Karate Kid was the first time I saw a bonsai tree. He told me that he was actually contracted to provide and design all the trees for that movie. That's not a bad addition to one's bonsai resume!

Honest I know someone who spent 450,000.00 USD on a skull sculpture about 8 foot tall that is supposed to be covered in tiles from the streets of Ancient Shanghai... They are the type of people who would spend a LOT on a plant because they like it and simply hire someone to tend to it. They really don't care about cost they care about ownership To me it is a bit crazy but the place they brought it to is a 15-16 million dollar property and they have several more all over the world. The watering system at that location has 54 zones The only good I see in all of that is I can "collect" there in the Spring.
