Blue Atlas Cedar or not?

This was a gift in 1995. After a few years of freezes, some of the branches died, but it still has a beautiful trunk. Can anyone confirm that it is indeed a Blue Atlas Cedar? If so, do these sell at Bonsai shows? If so, what would the approximate value be? Thx.

Looks more like Himalayan (Cedrus deodara) foliage, all my BAC have much smaller needles. As for value I’d want to see more of the trunk and branch structure.

Looks like Deodar to me also.
As for value, that's a bit hard to give without seeing the actual structure of trunk and branching.
Value will also depend where in the world you live, currency, availability of similar trees, etc.

Cedar usually command a higher price than faster growing and common species.

I concur. Deodar cedar

Here are some photos before it was damaged in the freeze we had. And some close ups of the trunk and branching. I'm in the Sacramento, CA area. Thanks

Deodar cedar. A Meh bonsai species. Fairly common nursery/landscape tree in the U.S.

It's fine, but if you're planning on selling it, don't expect much -- couple hundred at most. Not much demand for bonsai because its growth typically is leggy and it can be a little touchy about root work.

As for damage from freezing and you’re in Sacramento highly unlikely unless you got several days and nights below 25 or less. If you’re looking at the exposed bark it’s more likely a watering issue.

I have seen a handful of nice deodar bonsai. The foliage looks better on larger trees
