Well I got a Blue Spruce from Home Depot and beat it up a little. My Mugo pine handled what I did so well I thought I’d see how this turns out. The roots looked so different I left em exposed. I didn’t wire anything yet. And for style I’m not sure yet. In nature I see trees with the roots out all the time. This will let me know if it can happen fast. Added bonus, the wife likes it! Under the new soil is mostly all the roots from its big plastic bucket it came in some old soil and some new. 3C8555F7-EA91-40BC-801E-A4D7E2070AEE.jpeg02CD79E6-4D9A-4060-92A5-AD01F195E049.jpegE05FC365-664B-462C-82A2-619437B574C5.jpeg83538A6D-27FA-42FF-B791-FFF8211782D4.jpeg0C204B8D-FACF-4F8D-8EB7-ABE1503687B2.jpeg

The one that has Two going over it? I left Most all the original roots. They spread to edges of this huge plate/pot. I was thinking I should leave all the roots for a while.

Nice.

You oughta pluck that little sucker growth, it's confused, taking more than its giving.

No big deal it's "mounded"...

But the cross draft is gonna wicked dry your surface roots....best moss it.

Mrs. Price and I recently spoke of the necessity of keeping spruce surface roots wet. It's a thing.
