The correct spelling is Premna. Google translates it by 豆腐

Yes, that's probably a more accurate translation. To me, it looks a lot like a species of Fraxinus (Ash) : the leaves, the colour of the bark,...

Is it the same species as the (BIG !) one pictured there : http://www.tydf.cn/read.php?tid=245519 ?...

The translation into English I got for 对节白蜡 is "Ericerus of section". Doesn't make sense... Into French : "Ericerus de l'article" , into German : "Ericerus des Abschnitts"

Well well well, online tranlation does help, but I think the combinations of Chinese character is even more challenging than translating a European langage into another. ;)

Maybe there is a confusion with "Ericerus pela", which is an insect, and that Google translates into Chinese with similar characters : 白蜡虫

(See : http://zipcodezoo.com/Animals/E/Ericerus_pela/)

The only reference I found on "Ericerus" as trees are from beijingbonsai.com or Flickr (same photos)

So beijing, maybe you should correct the translation on these pages before someone tries to import "China Wax Scale Insects" (Ericerus pela) ;) , not a very good way to get popular among bonsai amateurs...

Very attractive trees! Thanks for posting them. Shi shi. Did you grow these yourself, or collect them from nature? And what area of China do you live in?
