Because I like it. ;)
I also think some see things as a long term image down the path on their journey. They can see where it will go. Some see a sprint and wish to remove things prematurely. Depends on ones final vision. I've been asked that myself on some trees why I have left something. Just needs more time in to develop further...patience may bring about a nicer tree.

Not ten years but this was my first pre bonsai buy, my greatest teacher and the tree I’m most proud of. I liked the base and the tree reminded me of the whomping willow in Harry Potter so I bought it then realized how bad the tree was made a plan and went for it. With help from some here and some friends IRL of course.

Lots of great work here. I appreciate the time it takes to dig up old pics and more recent ones. I feel like I have several decent transition but trying to find the time to post. Bobby Lane is on fire. Keep it up everyone.

Hornbeam over two years, then i sold it.
on this particular tree the chopping and carving was done over the winter months. thats actually when i do a lot of carving n chopping, because thats the period when i buy many trees, when theyre leafless and i often repot them at that time too🤓
most of the trees i posted here ive sold, the only dead one is one of the fat beeches.
trees can handle more than people think.
