Hey Everyone,
I'm new to this forum and would like to learn more about caring for a bonsai. That said I had a ficus that was given to me and I let it go. Now it looks like a miniature tree and I would like to really start working on it. I know it will probably take a long time to get it where it should be but I would really appreciate some help from the community.
Thanks in advance for any you can provide.
Attached are pictures after I removed it from the broken pot it was in.
I am replanting tomorrow and would like to trim it back but that's really my question.
Can I cut it all the way back? What would be best?

Orlando, FL. I have had this ficus for years but I admit I've neglected it as a bonsai and just taken 'care' of it as a plant. It's probably 7 years old now.
