Been doing some research past couple weeks indoor the best Bonsai for indoors. While at my local big box store today actually came across one so I figured why not for a starter tree. The tag on it simply called it a Bonsai no description as to type or anything. I believe it is a Ficus from some researching online. Some help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Appreciate the help. I've already gotten the moss looking glued down stuff pulled out. Getting ready to do some pruning and shaping.

Yes as soon as pulled that fake moss stuff off I saw it was in a generic potting soil. Bonsai mix is on order with a proper Bonsai pot.

I wouldn't prune it or anything just yet. Let it adjust and start growing first.

Haven't touched the canopy any yet. Did trim off sprouts down low on the trunk about an inch off the soil. I'll definately let it adjust. Has some sprouts already at purchase.

I have one, they are pretty tough little fellows.
however some leaves might turn yellow soon, normally it's not a big deal, just the reaction to its new environment. After awhile it should be ok.
Also: what do you call 'sprout down low on the trunk'?
This species could grow aerial roots, it would be bad to take them away, they could be very cool.
Then:where do you live? It will help if you could complete your location in your profile. If it's already warm/hot at your place it will be better for it to be outside.

It's not an aerial root it has two leaves on it. I live in Southeastern Virginia in a apartment for now. No balcony for it to be on outside unfortunately. It's on a table in front of a southern facing window for now.
