looking for some pre-bonsai mostly, maybe an inexpensive bonsai 'starter'

Here is a map of some nurseries in the LA area. I think most of them are sixty to ninety minutes from San Bernadino (I'm not from the area).

Not specifically what you're asking about, but have you seen Huntington Gardens? I was out there a few weeks ago. They won't have anything you want for sale, but plenty of inspiration is available.
