While this thread is active, might as well ask:

Anyone throw a bit of kanuma in their mix? I'm trying about 25-30% with a cutting.

Nope. but then again, I do not live in Japan.

I do not bare-root on purpose. But I find the roots to be very brittle and a single fast move causes the rootball to disintegrate

But it makes sense as bougies like a somehow acidic soil.
Possibly... I just always have potted in what friends in Florida use. Since they grow more bougainvillea than the single one I have on my bench. If they find success...I guess I never looked further. Since my own experience has been successful with what it grows in. If it isn't broken...I don't fix it.

That was my thinking. Figured a little bit wouldn't hurt, and I had 2/3rds of a bag left over from an azalea.

Just a recently rooted cutting anyway - we'll see.
Now I am curious, let us know, please.
