that thing is moving right along! My glabra had most of it's foliage eaten by my tormented dog.
The good news is that he either threw it up quickly, or it didnt negatively effect him. Except landing him in the crate during the day while I and the female spousal unit are at work.

OH NO! Thank goodness it didn't negatively effect him...how bad did he get at it? Just leaves? No trunk or branches disturbed? Crate is the best for the dog's well being and the tree.

Mine is a stump with 2 vines about 18". Imagine yours without leaves.
Rotten dog.

My son says the darnedest thing yesterday... "It surprised me this tree bloomed...I didn't expect that."

Now I did choose a softer colored bract than the one we admired in Honduras...it's a softer color that appeals to me. Though the magenta bracts are amazing...and I still contemplate getting another Bougie at some point. And really put some $$$ into it. But, I just don't have the room for wintering a larger one.

I must have either wired it poorly into the pot...or the weight of the bracts and foliage has this not looking much like the slant it is...but more of a semi cascade.

Once the blooms fade...do I prune it back or let it stay bushy to help thicken the tree?

Very pretty color. I actually like the softer color over the brighter.

Thanks Judy...I do as well. It was a hard decision for me actually. With our admiring the darker magenta colored bracts on the one we had seen. Wishing this to be a reminder of our promise to seeing our project complete in the village of Magdalena and all. But...I decided that the tree itself reminds me when I glance at it...that it will never be the tree we seen. So why try and duplicate it.

Is starting to look as I maybe seeing the two toned bracts sometime soon. Love the softness of the color as you say. With cream/white mixed with the colors of the bract.
