Thank you. Right now it’s getting direct morning sun and afternoon shade.I like it. Put it out in the sun. In that small of a pot, I doubt you will be able to overwater it, which they hate. I'd be happy to have it.
Mine like as much sun as I can give them.Thank you. Right now it’s getting direct morning sun and afternoon shade.
This is my first, so I really appreciate the info!
Mine does the same when I move it indoors. It loses all of its leaves. Once it's outside in Spring, boom, leaves everywhere. Make sure to wire the branches when they are still young and check on it every day. It bites in quick! The clip and grow method produces very angular branching in my opinion so I wire whenever possible. This is my tree growing back its leaves. This one sulked all winter long. Leafless, under lights in the basement.
Hovering around 62 degrees F, Temps in the basement are probably to warm. I figured it was a goner. However, the branches remained flexible, so I just waited to see.

Any thoughts?
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this. Just wait and see I guess.
Whew! Ok I feel a little better. I agree about the angular growth. And will keep this in mind.Mine does the same when I move it indoors. It loses all of its leaves. I’m not sure. The gal I bought it from said the flowers were usually more orange in color -but when I purchased it at our spring auction, they had gone pink. It was repotted a few weeks before I bought it.Does your bougie have a cultivar name? It looks a lot like one I have that is simply called Apple Blossom.
No problem, that is usually the way of it. I am trying to keep track of the 5 cultivars I have, but I am forever losing and re-finding tags.I’m not sure. I have no idea!
Sometimes they like to play dead. Just when you're ready to chuck it on the burn pile, they star growing. This one sulked all winter long. Leafless, under lights in the basement.

I have an "Apple Blossom" it has pale pink flowers compared to my regular pink bougie.Does your bougie have a cultivar name? It looks a lot like one I have that is simply called Apple Blossom.
I'm in SoCal and our lows dip into the mid 50s still and I haven't had any issues with them. I always joke that if another meteor hits the planet the only thing that will survive are cock roaches and bougainvillea. Can they be out right now? Our lows still are dipping below the 60s. I have had mine inside under lights to keep them a bit warmer. If they can go out that would be great but I do not want them to get too cold of a snap
I agree with @p_anova you gotta wire these things early. All of my bougies have a tendency to grow arrow straight when left alone. You may need to either chop that new leader or see if it pushes a new bud lower on it so you can't start some movement. Thankfully they backbud like crazy so no big deal.Moved it to the indoor plant room today.
thought I would take some shots.
Has some flaws I think I should address.
The new leader grew arrow straight. Don’t know what to do about it.
This double branch situation? And finally the bulging happening at the top with these two sprouts.
Reckin’ I pluck one off and call it a day.
Please, any suggestions are very welcome and appreciated!
I have a good size Apple Blossom that was greenhouse kept the past 3 winters. I cut it back about a week ago. Wish I had taken pictures of the lovely pink flowers with a flush of white. We could have compared them. Mine should bloom again in a month or so.I have an "Apple Blossom" it has pale pink flowers compared to my regular pink bougie.
