I, the voice of experience will guide you. Don't wire anything. Put weights on, or guy lines to pull down or around. My error may have been that branches were damaged by over-bending cramping or separating the cambium layer. It may be that by the time the branch is rigid, it's too late to force into another position. Floppy, green should bend just fine. It should be OK to just guide branches to grow towards where you want them verses forcibly putting them where you want them. Leave all the foliage on for now, just in case. You can always clip later, but if you need live leaves for some kind of recovery you'll have them. Keep us posted. Later, we can talk about an investment in a couple bridges....
