Hello everyone,
I'm pretty new to bonsai, reading and watching as many videos as possible. I bought two boxwoods ('littleleaf' and 'dwarf') from the garden store. I've just been trying to keep them healthy and letting them do their thing. On the dwarf I pruned back some of the inside leaves because I was interested to see some of the branch structure and thought it would allow some more sun in there. I haven't touched the larger littleleaf let. I've been trying to sketch out how I would like to mold these little guys but haven't taken the plunge yet into major pruning. Check out the photos and any insight welcome. Thanks

You seem to have multiple branches coming out of same area on all of these plants forming a palm like shape. Consider reducing the number on these down to 2 if possible...or even removing the entire branch if it won't help your design. I will keep all the lower branches near the base as long as possible as sacrificial branches to help thicken the base/trunk. You most likely know that boxwood doesn't want any of its branches totally defoliated, it (the branch) can die if you do but mentioning it anyway.

Sorry can't help you much with the design on these but good luck and from a fellow newbie, WELCOME!!!!

I think I'll just let them grow unless you guys have any other ideas. Thanks!

what kind of boxwood? I'm in Joysey too and tried my hands on a boxwood like yours and it soon died but I think it's because I didn't give it enough time to acclimatize after I brought it home.

The larger is a Buxus microphylla "True Spreader" and the smaller two are dwarf, but not sure what species. Can anyone tell?
