Last winter trying to start seeds indoors over winter I found out my basement stayed too cold. So I was inspired to set this up tonight. Located in an open closet near my back door it is narrow but tall. I had to build the frame piece by piece inside the closet The frame is from one of those basic standing greenhouse towers set up opposite of how it’s meant. Next some hardware cloth to support my light. It is cut larger than the frame and held in place using the walls and the frame.

The light may be too far away from the seedling tray, but this is how it has to be. This was all done with inspiration and not a second of actual planning.

Nice.

I dig the Eiffel Lighthouses in front of the tray!

The main question....is she still as happy with you as she was in the avatar pic?🧐

Have you managed to make greenhouse parts in a closet "par for the course" already!?🤣

Nice!

TL or fluorescent lighting needs to be placed about 5-10cm from the plants if you want the lights to be effective.

Otherwise you'll be dealing with stretched out plants that really have no advantage of being grown indoors. I say this from the bottom of my heart; indoor growing is great, but it has to be great or else it'll hurt your feelings, efforts, time and money.

Thanks for the reminder about how close the light should be.🙂 while I can’t change the distance, I have surrounded the tray with reflective insulation as a sort of grow box to redirect the light. I know it’s an experiment but let’s see if it works
