They are protected in Brazil, and here (I live in Sao Paulo) we can get them only in little packets of 20 seeds each.
But...
It's not difficult to find seedlings or cuttings in Florida.
Paul, send me a PM and we can talk it over.I've never seen seeds any where.. I would love to grow some from seed.
STOP !!!!!
Try the other Brazilian Tree - bark cracks, fairy like leaves
and NO THORNS.
Sent in Fun
But seriously Brazil has an ironwood, which we use for Bonsai
and it is magnificent.
Get Clicio to send you that one.
Say NO to painful trees.

Really? I've had zero luck with cuttings.Probably one of the easiest plants to get cuttings to root.....why on Earth would you want to grow from seed?
I don't know, but probably because they are very fast growers (at least here) and can be trained just by clip'n grow and some guy wires.Probably one of the easiest plants to get cuttings to root.....why on Earth would you want to grow from seed?
He is talking about the BEAUTIFUL Caesalpinia Ferrea - Brazilian Leopard Tree
Is it anything like Caesalpinia Coriaria? Obtained some seeds of this (tropical) tree. As it's the 'national tree' of the Dutch Antilles. Probably pretty common in the Carabian?Caesalpinia Ferrea - Brazilian Leopard Tree
Called here "pau-ferro" (ironwood)
Beautiful bark, very hard wood, difficult to find.
Did you use a little green house for cutting? If you didn't, you should try this for every cutting. It works great.Really? I've had zero luck with cuttings.
