Hello all, first time poster. I purchased this Brazilian raintree from nursery stock about 4 years ago. I had no genuine interest in designing bonsai yet at the time and now am left with this overgrown monstrosity that doesnt leave me much in the room of inspiring me with a direction to take. Lack of a solid nebari, crossing and looping roots and other aesthetic flaws almost want me to "retire" this tree to become more of a mother plant to just take cuttings from. Any advice would be awesome!

I’ve had good luck with both cuttings and air layering. You’ve got plenty of tree to experiment with. You could start taking cuttings at the top and work your way down to that first big branch and the mother tree will have more taper as well. In your zone I think the best time would be right when it starts getting hot and humid.
